My father is an investment banker, and growing up I would venture into his library whenever I could to attempt to satisfy my passion for business by reading his books.

　　Virtually every day from 5.00 in the afternoon until almost .00 at night, I would soak up the information that his collection had to offer; weekends and holidays were no exception. As I now decide on a course of study to apply for, the choice of Business Administration proves an easy one.

　　Studying a degree in Business. This path has long been a family tradition, but I have cultivated my genuine interest in this subject area independently of my relatives.

　　I feel academically and personally prepared to enter this degree course. My constant reading and true passion for business elevated me to the top of my high school class. In one year, I passed through nine exams and received the highest qualifications.

　　Over the last few years, my studies have taken me in a direction geared towards learning more about the inner workings of a business, as well as the management skills required to put these theories into practice.

　　The idea of managing an organisation, with the vast breadth of competence that such a job requires, and the sheer variety of activity that it entails, has made me strive to learn more and fulfil my dream of owning my own business.

　　In order to achieve something as significant as setting up and managing a business, I must learn all I can.

　　Above all, a business degree will enable me to strengthen my finance, interpersonal and entrepreneurial skills. Besides studying, I have participated in activities and that enhance my candidacy for a place at university. Last year I worked in a building company, where I was able to contribute to the organisation of staff and maintain budgets. I learned the integral parts of a business organisation, which only strengthened my determination to realise my dream.

　　When I am not studying, I enjoy taking part in activities within my local community. I often volunteer at the local youth centre, and was involved in organising a fund raising auction. We managed to raise £500 for new sports equipment and extra facilities. I learned what true leadership is, and this experience will help me in future business situations.

　　From the knowledge I have acquired thus far, I have developed my own ideas of running and organising businesses. I believe in the idea of however difficult a task may seem, with careful planning, it can be accomplished.

　　Learning about accountancy will be particularly fulfilling due to its logical structure, making it especially comprehensible and its conclusions valuable. I know that this passion will only grow as I learn more, and I hope that through university I can gain the skills I need to make my dreams a reality.

　　My ambition now is complete a business degree in order to further strengthen my understanding of the relationship between the different functions in business. I know that I can succeed, and I hope one day to have a library like my father’s as I carry on the family tradition.
